Ohio town hopes new CDC will clean up & revitalize shabby neighborhoods

Once it’s in place a new organization can help with things like cleanup, street improvements and bringing in more businesses.

Members of the Mount Auburn, Ohio community council met with local business leaders on August 6, 2015 to work on a plan for a “community development corporation.”

Mount Auburn certainly has its share of problem properties. If not abandoned and overgrown, sometimes they’re just out of control and homeowners need help.

A community development corporation in Mount Auburn is a great mechanism to clean up places. Mount Auburn is home to some amazing, beautiful properties but it’s also not hard to find places that are overgrown and unkempt.

The financial engine for this community is largely along Auburn Avenue. 9,000 workers come and go through there every day with thousands more coming to the hospital and clinics as patients. The goal is to turn those people into money, by forming a community development corporation.
