The French Ministry of the City (Ministere de la ville) announced in December 2014 that seven neighborhoods out of the ten proposed in the Lille metropolitan area had been selected by the National Agency for Urban Renovation (Agence nationale pour la rénovation urbaine) for the New National Program of Urban Renewal (Nouveau programme national de renouvellement urbain).
The National Agency for Urban Renovation allowed the opportunity for the Prefect of the Region to choose additional neighborhoods for funding, thus the city remains mobilized to ensure that the neighborhoods that were not selected can also be supported.
Thus, in addition to the original seven neighborhoods that will benefit from the national funding, the projects Trois Baudets-Lionderie à Hem and the Villas à Wattrelos will now benefit from additional regional support.
