$10 million federal grant to redevelop New orleans’ Canal Street Ferry terminal

On November 5, 2015, New Orleans city leaders joined workers with the United States Department of Transportation and others to announce plans for a new Canal Street Ferry terminal.

According to Mayor Mitch Landrieu‘s office, the city will receive a $10 million grant to build the new terminal at the end of Canal Street.

The project will be part of the city’s redevelopment along the Mississippi River leading up to its 300th anniversary in 2018.
