12 ecological restoration projects designed to rewild Great Britain

People are already beginning to rewild pockets of Scotland, Wales, and England.

There are many pioneers of rewilding out there. They’re dedicated to making things better for the future. We need many more, of course.

And we need more large-scale projects that allow nature to take care of itself at a landscape level.

Most of the projects on this page don’t call themselves rewilding projects. But if someone is working to restore habitats, bring back living systems and repair ecological damage, then that’s rewilding.

We have ambitious plans to build a database of rewilding projects across Britain. We know there’s a lot more out there.

In the meantime, we hope this sample inspires you. We want to support them as much as we can while we work to get new projects off the ground.
