Volunteer bricklayers needed to restore 200-year-old canal locks in England

Volunteers are needed to help rebuild a 200 year old lock as part of an £830,500 project in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England.

It’s part of a project by the Canal and River Trust and the Grantham Canal Society who will restore two locks on the canal – locks 14 and 15 near Steinwith.

People will get the chance to spend a week’s holiday in a series of camps run by the Waterway Recovery Group throughout July, 2016 in Grantham.

And it is urging people with bricklaying experience to come forward to rebuild the historic lock walls.
