2015 SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration (Scotland)

The SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration 2015 have been announced.

The 2015 SURF Awards are delivered in partnership with the Scottish Government, and with additional support from Architecture + Design Scotland, Creative Scotland, Highland & Islands Enterprise, PAS, RTPI Scotland, Scotland’s Towns Partnership, and Skills Development Scotland. The media partner is the Sunday Herald.

Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice & Communities Alex Neil revealed the winners of the 2015 SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration at a celebratory presentation event in Glasgow yesterday evening.

After assessing 54 SURF Awards applications and visiting 16 shortlisted projects, the independent judging panel selected six category winners:

  • Scotland’s Most Improved Large Town: Kilmarnock
  • Scotland’s Most Improved Small/Medium Town: Barrhead
  • Large Scale Infrastructure: Ullapool Harbour Enhancement
  • Employability: Wheatley Pledge
  • Creative Regeneration: Laurieston’s ‘Open Spaces’
  • Community Led Regeneration: Helmsdale Affordable Housing Initiative
