A distressed former tire factory along the Jones Falls stream in Baltimore, Maryland is poised to become the next redevelopment project in the Woodberry neighborhood.
Remington Properties LLC bought the 150,000-square-foot Schenuit Tire building as part of a four-building acquisition along Union Avenue earlier this year. The firm paid $3.4 million for the buildings, totaling 280,000 square feet.
Remington is leaning toward industrial mixed-use zoning for the property — possibly a hybrid between apartments, office, maker and creative space.
Woodberry, once a hot bed for Baltimore manufacturing, has seen many of the former mills in the neighborhood converted into residential and commercial space.
