$272 million restoration for Minnesota State Capitol

The grand, historic 1904 Minnesota State Capitol is currently being restored.

Costing an elaborate $272.7 million, the project aims to repair and preserve the building. Because of this, significant portions of the Capitol are closed to the public and sections of the exterior are covered.

Expected to be complete in 2017, many precautions are being made to keep the building as close to its original state as possible, while securing the long-term safety and durability of the site and its inhabitants.

The story of the Minnesota State Capitol Building is still being formed, as this beautiful piece of architecture continues to thrive with age.
