Volunteers across the Roanoke Valley rolled up their sleeves to help those who served the country.
Organizers from Renovation Alliance held their Veterans Renovation Day.
About 400 volunteers worked to renovate one of 16 homes for veterans. Some sawed and drilled holes to fix a roof, and others painted cabinets.
“It’s an amazing experience the sensation is almost indescribable how happy everyone is to come together from different groups to backgrounds working with the veterans and seeing everybody’s response,” Eric Wise, the project specialist for Renovation Alliance said.
