$5 million available for urban innovation. Apply by November 3, 2016.

The Knight Cities Challenge seeks new ideas from innovators who will take hold of the future of our cities. They will be accepting application from October 10, 2016 until November 3, 2016 at noon (Eastern U.S. time)

They invite applicants from across the United States to share their ideas for making the 26 cities where Knight invests more vibrant places to live and work.  From a pool of $5 million, they are looking to award grants at the city, neighborhood and block level, and all sizes in between.

The 26 communities are all locations where the Knight brothers once owned newspapers.
