The small town of Clackmannan sits in the Central Lowlands of Scotland, and has about 3400 residents. Situated within the Forth Valley, Clackmannan in the county of Clackmannanshire.
Ambitious plans to help regenerate Clackmannan took a step forward in early March of 2017 when actions to deliver new affordable housing, community enterprise facilities, streetscape improvements and the relocation of a local business to new premises were agreed upon by the local authority.
Funding of over £5 million will be spent in Clackmannan – £2.193 million from Clackmannanshire Council’s Capital Programme, £2 million from the Scottish Government’s Economic Development Fund, and £1.1 million from the Scottish Government’s Housing Grant and Infrastructure Grant.
A formal agreement will be signed with Kingdom Housing Association following the council’s acquisition of the former industrial print works to develop new affordable flats in the Main Street/North Street area, with business units below.
