Global Parliament of Mayors Annual Summit — Bristol, England — October 21-23, 2018

The Annual Summit of the Global Parliament of Mayors will take place in Bristol, UK from Sunday, October 21 to Tuesday, October 23, 2018.

The focus will be on empowering cities discussing key global challenges as inclusive cities, safe cities, innovative cities, equal cities and prepared cities, and how local action can support international and national policy. It will also demonstrate and promote effective city-to-city cooperation at a global scale and advocate for cities to be formally represented in international frameworks.

Other city platforms and networks from around the world will also participate in the Summit, to ensure that we clearly articulate the multiple voices on city issues and help amplify the messages coming out of other networks’ programmes.

Over the coming months, the GPM will be focusing efforts to ensure a strong work programme can be discussed by participants, and key decisions can be made by GPM members, while leaders are together in Bristol. GPM mayors and non-member city leaders are invited to the event and encouraged to join, but only GPM members will be able to take part in the general meeting and decision-making sessions.

During the Summit, the GPM will provide time and space for targeted networking among peers and with invited guests. Participants will be invited to see first-hand some of Bristol’s challenges and successes around global issues.

The GPM Annual Summit 2018 will bring global city leaders and additionally international experts together to discuss city leadership and key global challenges at a local level. GPM mayors and non-member mayors are invited to the event. Only GPM members will be able to take part in the GPM general meeting and decision-making sessions.
