Broomfield CO: New organization to beautify & revitalize vacant buildings

Broomfield, Colorado could soon be getting a facelift with City Council’s Tuesday night move to establish Enhance Broomfield, an improvement plan for commercial and industrial buildings and centers around the city.

The program is an effort to beautify Broomfield, allowing new and existing small business and building owners to apply for grants to improve their properties — specifically those with leases at least three years old.

Enhance Broomfield aims to assist small business owners who employ less than 50 full-time employees redevelop outdated and underutilized buildings with hopes of reducing vacancies and increasing commercial and industrial property values.

Grants must be used to improve the exterior appearance of a building, for parking area repairs and improvements, signage, handicapped-accessibility enhancements, landscaping, painting or other external improvements needed to bring a building up to code.
