$47 million now available to BC communities from the CleanBC Communities Fund to boost resilience and economic recovery

The CleanBC Communities Fund supports cost-sharing of infrastructure projects in communities across the province of British Columbia, Canada. These projects will focus on the management of renewable energy, access to clean-energy transportation, improved energy efficiency of buildings and the generation of clean energy.

On August 12, 2020, the Canadian and British Columbian governments committed up to $47 million towards a second intake of the Green Infrastructure – CleanBC Communities Fund (CCF) to support cost-sharing of infrastructure projects in communities across the Province. This intake is designed to target projects starting in 2021 or 2022.

The CleanBC Communities Fund is a collaboration between the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy.

The CleanBC Communities Fund is a foundational component of the B.C. government’s CleanBC plan. CleanBC puts B.C. on the path to a cleaner, better future – with a low-carbon economy that creates opportunities for all while protecting our clean air, land and water.

People deserve access to clean air, clean energy and clean economic opportunities and by investing in new clean infrastructure projects, we will reduce pollution, build better buildings, improve transportation options and make life more affordable for people. By working together with the City of Vancouver and other B.C. communities, along with the federal government, we’re helping build back a stronger, better B.C. for everyone following the impacts of COVID-19 through our CleanBC plan,” said George Heyman, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy Government.
