Cars Kill Cities: California puts $262M into 114 bicycle & pedestrian projects

The California Transportation Commission (CTC) has adopted 114 cycling and walking projects, valued at more than $262 million, in the state’s 2015 Active Transportation Program (ATP).

With the long-term aim of reducing the reliance on automotive transport, California’s ATP is the largest of its type in the USA and funds most of the state’s walking and bicycle projects.

Such projects encourage increased use of active modes of transportation, support sustainable communities, and create healthier, low-carbon travel choices.
