Cork, Ireland‘s Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) chiefs last night confirmed that John Sisk & Son have been selected as the main contractor for the €70 million redevelopment of Páirc Uí Chaoimh, with the project hoped to be finished by the summer of 2017.

Cork GAA Chairman Ger Lane said that the redeveloped stadium will be of huge economic benefit to the city, as the “top-class” facilities will be capable of hosting major games and events.

GAA officials said that the redeveloped Páirc will be an important element of Marina Park, currently being developed by the City Council.

They said: “The board has worked very closely with Cork City Council and its appointed consultants for Marina Park to ensure that the facility integrates with the public park.
