INTERNS WANTED: Explore, restore, and serve in the beautiful American southwest

The American Conservation Experience (ACE) seeks interns to help restore trails and wildlife habitat in Grand Canyon National Park, Siguaro National Park, Petrified National Forest, and Grand Teton National Park.

Corps members can expect to work long days, and must successfully adapt to various climates and working conditions. Proper safety procedures must be observed in all tasks, including the repair and use of hand and power tools used on projects. Corps members serve in professionally supervised teams as they explore future outdoor careers, learn practical field skills, and develop confidence as emerging leaders in the field of conservation.

All ACE corps members practice environmental ethics, and are expected to work as a team in stressful situations or circumstances. While battling adverse weather conditions, members are expected to complete all functions of the job, including but not limited to, heavy lifting, physical labor, and hiking to remote locations.

Start Dates: July 23, August 6, and August 20, 2016.

Compensation and Benefits: ACE AmeriCorps members receive a $110 weekly living stipend. Upon completion of a full term, corps Members will receive a $1,515-2,865 education award. ACE prevents financial hardship for crew members through providing free housing accommodation, tents, project transportation, and project meals.

Qualifications: Applicants for this position must be between the ages of 18-25, possess US citizenship and have a high school diploma or GED. All offers are contingent upon federal criminal history check, and a clean National Sex offender Public Registry checks.
