FY2022 EPA Brownfields Funding Opportunities guidelines released, with major changes to Assessment Grants this year

Grant guidelines are now available for FY 2022 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Funding Opportunities.

These grants may be used to address sites contaminated by petroleum and hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants (including hazardous substances co-mingled with petroleum).

Opportunities for funding are as follows: Brownfields Assessment Grants, Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Grants, and Brownfields Cleanup Grants.

Grant-Specific Guideline Documents:

Major changes to this year’s Assessment grants, include:

  • No Assessment Coalition Grants will be available this year;
  • Eligible applicants may apply for up to $500,000 in community-wide assessment funding.

The proposal submission deadline is December 1, 2021.
