Gloucester (UK) renews award program to advance historic urban regeneration

Efforts to regenerate Gloucester, England will be recognised with the return of awards which aim to inspire pride in the city.

The Gloucester Civic Awards will recognise buildings or developments which show a high standard of architecture, design and sustainability.

Votes can be cast in the awards, last held by Gloucester City Council in 2012, until the closing date of Friday October 9, 2015.

People and businesses are invited to make nominations under seven categories, starting with Best New Building or Extension, for structures in the city reflecting the best in modern architecture.

There are awards for restorations which have secured the future of Gloucester’s historic buildings or structures.
