Industrial Revitalization Grants awarded to reuse old buildings in Salisbury, NC

The Salisbury, North Carolina City Council decided to award revitalization grants to two companies with buildings in the Salisbury area.

JP Industrial Products, a nationwide plastics recycling company, was awarded one of the grants.

The company purchased the former General Electric building on Old Concord Road.

With the grant, the company will be able to make the building more suitable for operations and allow for the employment of 20 individuals.

The Industrial Revitalization Program Grant was created to encourage projects that will help improve underutilized corridors, encourage new and existing businesses to locate in older and less functional, vacant buildings and enhance, upgrade and stabilize vacant properties.
