Learn regenerative agriculture as an apprentice on a farm in Hawai’i

HIP Agriculture is a working farm and educational center located in North Kohala, Hawai’i. Our mission is to practice and teach ecologically conscious agriculture, empowering individuals and communities to cultivate alternative systems of living that restore human and environmental health.

At our main campus, Halawa Farm, we cultivate a diverse collection of native Hawai’ian and Polynesian plants, tropical fruit orchards, perennial vegetable and medicine crops, and a market garden where we grow food for our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program and local farmers market. We practice permaculture and regenerative agriculture farming techniques, and raise small scale poultry, livestock and bees.

HIP Agriculture offers 3 Farm Apprenticeship positions on our organic farm and tropical agro-forest. Our apprenticeship program is open to graduates of the Living Farm Internship Program as well as individuals experienced in farm operations or offering a skilled trade.

Apprentices will have the opportunity to live and learn on the HIP Agriculture farm in exchange for 25-30 hours of farm work, field projects, food processing and special events. Working alongside the farm managers, and lead farmer and director, Dash, apprentices will gain valuable skills in permaculture, organic gardening, agroforestry, animal care, plant medicine, and more.
