Join the Mohawk Valley Brownfields Developer Summit to network, explore, and invest in redevelopment opportunities in New York’s Mohawk Valley.
This free, in-person Summit on October 6-7, 2021 in Johnstown, New York is a historic collaboration of the six Mohawk Valley Counties to provide developers with a unique one-stop opportunity to:
- Network with local, state, and federal officials and redevelopment professionals;
- Explore development opportunities, available sites, the Valley’s needs, and how to build capital stacks from successful developers; and
- Invest in the Mohawk Valley’s resurging economy.
The Summit will spotlight ways the counties are positioning properties for development, offer actionable information on grants, tax incentives and funding and facilitate connections to public and private sector resources.
An estimated $2 billion investment in the Valley’s semiconductors and the innovation economy is creating a need for industrial, commercial, residential, and infill development.
The expected surge in infrastructure and brownfield funding, coupled with the Valley’s economic renaissance is providing developers an unparalleled opportunity for investment.
The Mohawk Valley Brownfield Development Summit will provide developers a dynamic in-person opportunity to learn, network and invest in New York’s Mohawk Valley Brownfield redevelopment. According to Stephen Smith, Executive Director of the Mohawk Valley Economic Development District, “The Summit will tie in the Mohawk Valley’s economic leaders, the brownfield sites ready for restoration, and America’s brownfield developers looking to acquire sites for future economic growth.”
Keynote speaker Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer will spotlight why investment in the Mohawk Valley has never looked brighter. With a $2 billion investment forecast, businesses are looking to invest.

The surge of economic activity is putting more focus on preparing sites for industrial, commercial residential and infill development.
Seasoned experts from the public and private sectors will address redevelopment including, the Valley’s needs, redevelopment opportunities, leveraging, incentives and why businesses are investing in the Valley.
