Concerned residents came to the kickoff meeting for the BAD Buildings Program in Morgantown, West Virginia on July 20, 2015 to discuss abandoned properties in their neighborhoods.
This is all part of a larger effort to either revitalize or remove those properties that can sometimes be hazardous.
Vacant, abandoned and dilapidated buildings are a problem in Morgantown, but thanks to a new team there will be some more help.
“We’re looking at really sort of the worst of the worst the properties that are severely dilapidated ready to collapse in,” said Luke Elser, Project Manager with Northern West Virginia Brownfields Assistance Center.
“Properties that have been completely abandoned by their owner, or owners who have just abdicated responsibility,” he continued.
