Mumbai, India to redevelop 207 93-year-old public housing buildings

The Maharashtra government has decided to redevelop 207 Bombay Development Department (BDD) chawls [multi-story tenements] in Mumbai, India.

The BDD chawls are over 93 years old.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the state government is committed to redevelop the old and dilapidated buildings.

The 207 buildings are spread over 93 acres of land in Worli, Dadar (E), Sewri and Lower Parel.

Each building has 80 rooms.
