VIDEO: National Park Service, a local non-profit, volunteers and wildlife celebrate successful restoration of Redwood Creek

Since 2009, the National Park Service and the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy staff have worked together to successfully restore Redwood Creek and its watershed to revitalize habitat for endangered coho salmon and threatened steelhead trout, threatened California red-legged frogs.

The project also helps decrease flooding on nearby roads, while creating a self-sustaining ecosystem that requires minimal future intervention.

The restoration of and the surrounding watershed is made possible by generous donations and grants, as well as the efforts of nearly 1,000 volunteers each year.
