RFP for redevelopment of aborted housing project into riverfront RV park (Nebraska)

The Plattsmouth (nebraska) City Council will take another step tonight in developing the city’s riverfront property at East Main Street into an RV park.

At its Jan. 18 meeting, Plattsmouth City Council will consider approving and publishing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the project.

The RFP will solicit proposals for the development and management of the property into 190-site RV Park. The city is open to selling or leasing the 29-acre parcel. Sites were estimated to be 35-feet by 65-feet.

According to a notice proposed for publication, the city will offer “$1.2 million in cash and tax incentives to assist the developer.

If the council authorizes the request, proposals will be due March 18.

Prospective developers are encouraged to obtain an RFP from City Administrator Erv Portis by emailing eportis@plattsmouth.org, by calling 402.296.2522 ext. 302; or by going online at www.plattsmouth.org.

Note from Storm: The RFP was approved at the meeting referred to above. The property is the site of an aborted housing development, abandoned after the floods of 2011 (and subsequent rezoning).
