New Jersey Urban Water conference, Newark, December 10, 2015

The New Jersey Institute of Technology will hold a New Jersey Urban Water conference from 08:00 – 12:30 on December 10, 2015 in Newark, New Jersey.

Transforming New Jersey’s inadequate urban water infrastructure can deliver not just sustainable infrastructure but multiple community benefits, including healthier, safer neighborhoods, clean waterways, local green jobs, flood and climate resilience and, ultimately, economic growth.

Under the leadership of its inaugural Steering Committee, the Urban Water Solutions Initiative, facilitated by New Jersey Future, is working to modernize New Jersey’s inadequate urban water infrastructure by leveraging innovative solutions that deliver sustainable infrastructure with multiple community benefits.

The Initiative is focusing much of its initial efforts on assisting places with combined sewer overflows (CSOs), in order to create models for other communities.

Note from Storm: Renovating badly-designed, obsolete sewer and stormwater infrastructure to prevent combined sewer overflows of raw sewage is (along with dam removal) the primary key to restoring rivers across the nation.

Register for conference.
