OECD report on Valle de México calls for more integrated urban regeneration

This new report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) finds that, while Mexico has taken important steps in addressing the urban challenges in the Valle de México, Mexico’s largest metropolitan area, there is a need for major metropolitan governance reform.

Among their key recommendations is to practice integrated urban regeneration. This would leverage the successful revitalization of their historic district.

Such a strategy would use transit-oriented redevelopment to boost downtown housing capacity, and to better-connect the many improvements they’ve already made to their infrastructure and heritage assets.
