On December 14, 2020 in Utica, New York, Mayor Robert Palmieri announced the redevelopment of the former Utica Steam Cotton Factory, an anchor building at 600 State Street in downtown Utica.
The facility, which is near the future Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Medical Campus, is being renovated by Lahinch Group, LLC, based in Syracuse.
Mayor Palmieri said “I’m pleased to announce the redevelopment of the former Utica Steam Cotton Factory. This project is yet another sign of downtown Utica’s rebirth. With the advent of a state-of-the-art medical campus, this facility will provide a unique opportunity for businesses to relocate and grow.”
The renovation is scheduled to be complete in 2021, and will provide attractive commercial space and continue the positive transformation of downtown and surrounding neighborhoods.
In addition, the revitalized building will offer the following:
- Class A Medical & Commercial Space (3,000 – 40,000 sf available);
- Food & Beverage Space (1,500 – 10,000 sf available); and
- On-site parking.
Historic features including natural brick, post and beam construction and 9-foot windows, plus amenities such as a fitness center, tenant lounge and on-site storage.
