Regeneration firm wins prestigious prize for rebirth of downtown Longbridge, UK

The first phase of the rebirth of Longbridge, England town centre has been awarded a prestigious national award.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) awarded the project by Birmingham-based St Modwen the regeneration prize at its 2015 grand final.

Completed this year, the first phase of the new-look Longbridge town centre includes a new Sainsbury‘s, Premier Inn hotel, Beefeater Grill, Costa Coffee, and other shops and offices.

The town centre element is part of the wider £1 billion regeneration of Longbridge following the collapse MG Rover in 2005 and includes the region’s biggest Marks and Spencer, new roads and houses, and Bournville College.
