Reforestation program adding 1 million trees to Quintana Roo, Mexico

A massive reforestation project in Benito Juarez and Isla Mujeres in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico will include the planting of one million trees.

La Reserva Toh is the first to reforest these two important regions of Quintana Roo adding a million trees of varying types.

Gerardo Contreras Silva, manager of the reserve, says the trees will be distributed to municipalities, schools, universities, hotels and suburb areas for replanting and will include varieties that are ornamental as well as fruit trees, cedar, mahogany, ciricote, zapote, snail and katalox.

La Reserva Toh program is sponsored by Reforestemos Mexico, a program that intends to double the number of trees planted each year.
