Restoration of 1814 log cabin in Ohio for education

Re-construction work at the Greene County (Ohio) Parks & Trails Indian Mound Reserve cabin in Cedarville Township began in earnest last week as the structure’s walls were raised.

The building will be used for educational purposes.

The log house at Indian Mound Reserve was originally discovered underneath a house that was being torn down by Greene County Park District staff.

Samples from the building dated it back to 1814, which means the home was probably built during that year.
