Many mornings this summer found a flotilla of as many as three dozen boats bobbing over a 50-acre stretch of water marked by a handful of white/orange buoys off Palacios Point in West Matagorda Bay, Texas.
Why so many boats? The fishing is great.
It is now, anyway. Less than four years ago, anglers would have been hard pressed to catch much, if anything, from that area.
That has changed, dramatically and significantly, in the wake of one of the largest, innovative and, so far, hugely successful oyster reef restoration projects on the Gulf Coast.
