RFP: $100,000 available for redeveloper who helps revitalize historic downtown (KY)

The City of Frankfort, Kentucky wants to give $100,000 to a private redeveloper who believes in the revitalized future of their downtown, and who is willing to halp make that future happen.

The city has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) for its second round of its Downtown Revitalization Grant Program.

The program gives up to $100,000 for redevelopment projects in Frankfort’s Central Business District, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The RFP states, “Downtown Frankfort has a number of empty and under-utilized buildings or lots and according to a recent review, there are nearly 25 vacant storefronts downtown. The City of Frankfort is seeking proposals from eligible applicants for the purpose of assisting with downtown revitalization efforts.

The RFP goes on to say that the selection committee will take into consideration community development goals including: 1) preservation and expansion of housing; 2) community and neighborhood revitalization; 3) expansion of economic opportunities; and 4) collaboration with local development community.

Applications must be submitted on or before 4:00 PM, EST – Monday, April 2, 2018.
