RFP coming: Florida county might seek redeveloper for downtown site

The Broward County (Florida) Commission could issue a request for proposal (RFP) to find a developer for a vacant site in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The commission will consider issuing the RFP for the 1.1-acre site at 600 N. Andrews Avenue at its June 7 meeting.

The site is on the northeast corner of Northwest 6th Street and Sistrunk Boulevard, near the Flagler Village neighborhood where there’s been a development boom.

That’s not far from the future Brightline passenger rail station that will connect Fort Lauderdale with Miami.
