RFP coming: 75-acre waterfront powerplant site will be available for redevelopment

Local power utility DTE Energy Company plans to issue a Request For Proposals (RFP) by the end of 2018 for the redevelopment of its 75-acre Conners Creek site on the east Detroit, Michigan riverfront.

Dave Meador, vice chairman and chief administrative officer for DTE, said DTE has held informal discussions with Mayor Mike Duggan‘s office, the surrounding community and redevelopers like Dan Gilbert‘s Bedrock LLC about the brownfield site south of Freud Street between Lycaste and Canal streets.

This is one of the largest developable sites on the river, if not the largest,” Meador said on May 4, 2018. “A good portion of that could be developed.
