RFP Coming Soon: Mixed-use redevelopment of 22-acre historic iron works site in Tulsa, OK

On June 18, 2018, Tulsa, Oklahoma Mayor G.T. Bynum announced that the city and USA BMX had reached an agreement to relocate in Tulsa.

USA BMX signed a 30-year lease agreement, with two 10-year renewal options in place. Currently in Gilbert, Arizona, USA BMX will relocate both its headquarters and its Hall of Fame museum to Tulsa.

To leverage the opportunity for maximum revitalization, the city will issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to rehabilitate the historic Oklahoma Iron Works Building and to redevelop the Evans Fintube site for mixed-use redevelopment to complement the new USA BMX facility.

The Oklahoma Iron Works/Bethlehem Supply Company Building is a massive industrial building located on a 22-acre site northeast of Tulsa’s Central Business District and on the eastern edge of the Greenwood District.

The RFP will require that the project be in accordance with previous community planning efforts, and honors the history of the Greenwood District and Black Wall Street.

The RFP will be issued following the completion of site plans for USA BMX.
