RFP Coming Soon: Private redeveloper wanted to repurpose & renew old city hall building

On March 13, 2018, the Meridian (Idaho) City Council directed the city to prepare a request for proposals for redevelopment of the former Meridian city hall building.

The decision came after a discussion during a joint meeting between the City Council and the Meridian Development Corporation, the city’s urban renewal agency.

Meridian’s former city hall, at 33 E. Idaho Ave., is still owned by the city, and is now used to house startup businesses that are part of the New Ventures Lab.

The city has identified the building as a possible site for a new courthouse facility, while a developer is also eyeing the property as part of a redevelopment project downtown.

Putting out a request for proposals would also allow any other interested developers to submit plans.
