RFP: Here’s your chance to redevelop this old library into a new library with mixed-use to help revitalize an Opportunity Zone

The Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC) has issued a request for proposal (RFP) for the redevelopment of the Pigtown Library at 856 Washington Blvd. in the Pigtown area (an Opportunity Zone) of Baltimore, Maryland.

The city desires a job-creating redevelopment that includes a mixed-use building with a new library, and that fits the context of the Washington Village / Pigtown Urban Renewal Area.

The property has 65 ft. of frontage on Washington Blvd. and approximately 100 ft. of depth, which equates to 6,435 sq. ft. of total land area. The existing library is a single-story structure of 2945 sq. ft. that was originally a bar.

The new library must be at least 3600 sq. ft., with a a pubic meeting room, children’s space, teen’s space, adult space, computer stations, staff area, mechanical rooms and storage.

Proposals are due by October 26, 2020.
