The Chief Procurement Officer for the Town of Barnstable, Massachusetts—on behalf of the Barnstable Municipal Airport Commission (Airport), and Town Manager of the Town of Barnstable (Town)—is soliciting responses from interested parties for the ground lease for up to 49 years of a commercially developed property of approximately 25 acres located at 790 Iyannough Road/Route 132 in Hyannis, Massachusetts, known as the Capetown Plaza (and also known as the KMART plaza) consistent with defined land use and economic development objectives and further limited by any restrictions associated with proximity to the airport.
The Town and Airport are seeking to have the property redeveloped in a creative and sustainable manner that best reflects the Town’s long term master plan and maximize revenue to the Airport.
A pre-response conference will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Barnstable Town Hall in the 2nd floor hearing room at 10:00am to entertain questions and review the submission requirements.
This solicitation is being conducted in accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30B, Chapter 16 and a resulting lease must be awarded in accordance with the requirements of the Request for Proposal regarding Real Property Transactions. If it becomes necessary to revise any part of this RFP or otherwise provide additional information, an addendum will be issued to all prospective proposers who received copies of the original request. The Town and/or Airport reserve the right to cancel the process at any time when it is in their best interest to do so.
All responses must be received in a sealed envelope properly marked prior to the deadline per the submission requirements found in the RFP documents.
Proposals are due on Friday, August 31, 2018, at or before 2:00 p.m. in the Purchasing Office, 230 South Street, Hyannis MA 02601.
