In Louisiana on October 7, 2020, the Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) re-issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for two vacant properties adjacent to the Buchanan Garage in downtown Lafayette.
An earlier 2018 RFP included the garage, which would have significantly boosted redevelopment costs. (Note: the Parish Council has now allocated $3.5 million to the renovation of the garage.)
“This commitment to funding infrastructure improvements resulted in a more market-friendly RFP. We are hopeful it will be more attractive to the development community and garner responses that meet the priorities of the Downtown Action Plan,” said a representative of the Downtown Development Authority.
This new RFP allows for construction of two multi-family buildings with up to 90 units. LCG will provide access to up to 100 parking spaces in the garage for tenant use.
Deadline for notification of intent to propose: November 2, 2020.
Deadline for proposals: January 4, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. CST.
