RFP: Private partners needed to redevelop this massive, historic pier for industrial, commercial and offshore wind energy use

On April 6, 2022, the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency (MassDevelopment) issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to redevelop the New Bedford State Pier into a thriving mixed-use asset along the city’s waterfront.

The initiative was originally envisioned by Senator Mark Montigny in 2008, and is based on his legislative language that was signed into law by Governor Charlie Baker.

The RFP will garner interest from developers seeking to use the state facility to generate economic revitalization, and job-generating related industries, such as commercial fishing, offshore wind, cargo, marine transportation, fish markets, restaurants, and other potential mixed-uses.

Proposal Submission Deadline: May 9, 2022 by 5:00 PM
