RFP: Redevelop a corridor in Long Hill Township, New Jersey

The Long Hill Township Committee (new Jersey) has agreed to send out a request for proposals (RFP) to companies interested in the redevelopment of Valley Road, while ensuring current property owners can be included in redevelopment efforts if they’re interested.

The Township Committee voted 4-1 in August to approve the Planning Board’s completed study, which determined properties on the west end of Valley Road that were in “need of redevelopment”. The study excludes two properties on Mercer Street, one a business and the other a residence, whose owners don’t want to sell.

A Valley Road Redevelopment Subcommittee was then created to gather information and create an RFP.

We have an RFP that is ready to go out,” said Mayor Bruce Meringolo on October 26, 2016. “It basically has a numbering system to score any potential redevelopers that want to submit their ideas and be considered,” he continued.
