RFQ: 149-acre historic fairgrounds site available for redevelopment as mixed-use entertainment destination (California)

In California, the city of Vallejo and Solano County have partnered to issue a Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for the redevelopment of the 149-acre (1.7 million square-feet) Solano County Fairgrounds site, which has been in use as fairgrounds since 1949.

The proposed reuse is the Solano360 retail and entertainment destination. This is an outgrowth a redevelopment plan approved by the city and county in 2013, which includes mixed-use development, a transit center, and a “Fair of the Future”.

The RFQ selection process has two phases: 1) the initial phase, during which developers are invited to submit a statement of qualifications and a concept plan and 2) Phase two, which will refine proposals, including a more detailed land use and financial plan, project schedule, and other information.

Interested developers must submit their RFQ application to Solano County by January 31, 2020 at 4 p.m. PST.
