The city of Troy, New York owns a pair of boarded-up waterfront apartment buildings at a gateway to the city, and now wants a private redeveloper to bring this key property back to life.
Buildings 1 and 2 of the John P. Taylor Apartments are been vacant for over a decade, blighting what should be prime riverfront land.
The 10-story brick and cinder block buildings are pretty much the first things a visitor sees when traversing the Troy-Watervliet Bridge into the city. It’s not the best first impression.
The Troy Housing Authority issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) on May 17, 2019, seeking a developer who would demolish the two buildings, and redevelop the site in sync with the city’s new Comprehensive Plan.
Proposals are due June 17, 2019.
