Rhode Island offers $5 million in grants for brownfields redevelopment

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management is offering $5 million in grants to redevelop brownfields sites.

DEM announced it is soliciting proposals for projects that will cleanup contaminated property and contribute to the state’s economic vitality.

The $5 million in funding is available over four years through a new Brownfields Remediation and Economic Development Fund.

The application deadline is Oct. 26, 2015.
