Seguin, Texas Main Street Program buys historic hotel to repurpose as apartments

The Seguin (Texas) Main Street Program has purchased the historic Aumont Hotel.

The hotel was built in 1916 and was renovated into apartment in 2003, but is currently vacant.

The Main Street Program will renovate those apartments and offer premier residential rental space, as well as maintain the retail and office space with minor upgrades.

Seguin is a Charter Member of the Texas Main Street Program of the Texas Historical Commission, a program dedicated to the economic revitalization of downtown through historic preservation.

Seguin’s Main Street Program is recognized as an Accredited National Main Street City by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The City of Seguin Main Street Program oversees activity in the downtown historic district. A nine-member Advisory Board is appointed by the Mayor and City Council and includes representatives who are downtown business and property owners and those who represent various clubs and organizations with an interest in revitalizing the downtown historic district.
