U.S. Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich., was in Bay City, Michigan on October 12, 2015 to highlight the Waterfront Community Revitalization and Resiliency Act that he introduced and see firsthand the efforts to attract business development to the area.
“The economic return is huge and any money that you put into riverfront redevelopment and sustainability has a big return for the community. Those are the kinds of investments we need to be making,” said the first term senator.
“We are thrilled to welcome Senator Peters to Bay City today to have him see firsthand the economic revitalization happening here on our waterfront,” said Annette Rummel, president/CEO of the Bay Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“We discussed waterfront issues and how important water is to the Great Lakes Bay Region and good access to that water as well. The Waterfront Community Revitalization and Resiliency Act that Sen. Peters has introduced will help communities like ours continue to attract commerce and tourism, improve our infrastructure and expand recreation opportunities,” she continued.
