A small southwest Virginia community is working on a major revitalization plan. Town leaders say there have been too many empty buildings in town, for too long.
Leaders already have plans for some of these old buildings.
“This used to be the John Randolph hotel and we would like to bring it back to its glory days,” Tamara Vest, Executive Director of Destination Downtown South Boston said as she pointed to the building.
The old hotel isn’t the only building town leaders want to repurpose. Empty for decades, leaders are still debating what the old tobacco prizary building best use could be.
“We’ve discussed everything from microbreweries to restaurants to various different things,” said Vest. “But it’s just in the brainstorming phase.”
