Undergrads: Summer job available reforesting London, Ontario, Canada

ReForest London is a non-profit organization dedicated to partnering with our community to enhance environmental and human health in the Forest City through the benefits of trees.

We are seeking a summer student to assist with a range of our spring and summer events and programs. This is a 15-week, full-time position beginning May 24, 2016 and ending September 2, 2016 through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

The Project Assistant & Aftercare Coordinator will assist with a number of ReForest London events this spring, acting as staff second at park naturalization, tree depots, tree blitzes and other events. In summer, they will lead and coordinate our aftercare program to help look after our past plantings, while also assisting on a number of other initiatives such as seed collection and environmental events.

The ideal candidate is passionate about trees, enjoys working on a number of different projects at a time, is an excellent communicator and has a solid technical background (particularly with regards to GIS and aerial photo interpretation).

Qualifications: Current university or college student (returning to school in the fall), studying in a related field, such as Forestry, Geography, Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Botany, Landscape Architecture, Horticultural Technology, Environmental Technology or Ecosystem Restoration.
